A Happy Home

It happened a few years ago. When I was around 10, I had chicken pox. I was supposed to rest for a week before I was cured completely. Even though care was taken by my parents as not to let anyone too close to me for the fear that it might spread, their efforts were not successful. Soon after me, my sister was infected as well. It was one long month at home, what with me and my sister falling sick.

The days that followed were not pleasant either. Though we were fine, we still had the weakness caused by the sickness. Time and again, one of us would fall sick and our mom used to rush with us to the doctor. Tablets were making constant appearances. Fed up with all this, our parents decided to consult a specialist. There must be some solution! They couldn't be happy when their children were suffering like this.

Of course, me and my sister were scared when our parents told us we were going to visit another doctor. Though at that time, the word specialist didn't mean anything to me, it scared my elder sister. So I thought it was a bad thing after all! We imagined injections being given to us and the thought itself made us sick all over again. But no amount of our 'Please' was going to change our parents' mind. So, without having any other option, we went along to the hospital.

Once there, we started shivering, expecting the worst. My fear was drawn from my sister, who looked terrified. When the doctor called us in, our parents had to drag two crying children inside! We were imagining different scenarios about how the doctor would treat us. But our fears were all vain. The doctor, an old man, was very friendly with us and after a little while, we opened up to him. He examined me (I was running on fever) and prescribed few medicines. I was surprised and asked "No Injection?". He smiled, shaking his head in negative. I was happy with relief.

After he wrote down medicines, he also suggested our parents that we be given Dabur Chyawanprash regularly. He said not only it is good and makes us strong, but also builds up to three times immunity. It was due to weak immunity that we were falling sick often and once that was solved, we would be fine. That was the first time, we were given Dabur chyawanprash and after few days, our health considerably improved. We weren't falling sick often and there wasn't that gloomy environment in the house either. Needless to say, we take a spoon of Dabur Chyawanprash daily and now, it has become a habit, a good one at that.

PS: This post is written for Dabur Chyawanprash and IndiBlogger.

Until the next post,
Sudhi :)

#100HappyDays - Day 15 and Day 16

Day 15: Finally, the tests ended today! And with this the working day of this year also ended. What a relief it is! No more classes, no more boring lectures. I can sit at home and rest till I wish. Of course, I have studying to do as it is not total vacation but study holidays. Still, as long as I don't have to go to college, I am happy :)

Day 16: Happiness is shopping. After a long time, I went to the super market with dad today and it was fun shopping for things I loved. Its something I like to do and going to the mart today after so many days, it felt good. I bought a lot of eatables for me to keep me company during study holidays :D

#100HappyDays - Day 12 to Day 14

Day 12: Today finally the CET classes ended for this year. I was really very happy. Though there is nothing wrong in attending CET classes, sometimes I don't feel like sitting through the classes for hours. All that happens is Over Head Transmission during these classes. I was happy that at least until the beginning of the next academic year, I will be spared of this torture. What more can I ask for now? ;)

Day 13: I love ice creams. Well, there was a time when I didn't really like them and everyone used to look at me in shock when I told them so. But recently, I found a new Amul ice cream parlor near my home and I am in love with the different flavors they offer. And so, I fell in love with ice creams, finally! Today I went there to have my favorite strawberry magic ice cream. Happiness is eating your favorite ice cream.

Day 14: Call me foodie but I love chats. So after lot of pleading, I got my sister to take me out to eat Bhel puri. Oh, I love this chat. Soon, we were at our favorite pani puri stall and I ate to my fill. Happiness is hanging out with your sister at your favorite food joint and enjoying the time together.

A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed

There is a saying that "If you trust a person completely in life you will either get a person for life or a lesson for life". I have experienced both the cases and as they say, experience teaches a lot.

During SSLC, I had a best friend who was so close to me that I used to treat him as my brother. We used spend many days together. But as the saying goes "Change is the law of nature", everything changed. He started ignoring me when  he found a new friend. Though it was right in front of my eyes, I was very foolish to realize it. But when I realized I was completely broken. It was like, I could never trust anyone again. Thus I got a lesson for life.

But as I said, "Change is the law of nature" and again I found a real best friend whom I can really trust. Time had healed my wounds and slowly started trusting him. He has all the qualities of a real friend. And I can Proudly boost that he is the person I got for life.

So, If we lose something we'll surely regain it in one or another way.

My Favorite Lecturer

Its obvious everyone will have a role model in their life. Even I have a role model.

Actually on the first day of my 1st year, he was the first lecturer who took our class. I really hated him. And I had no idea that one day I'll start to follow him.

Slowly days passed and I started to like him and his activities and his teachings. I was so impressed that I even used to talk to my friends in his accent. I was really madly following him.

I was waiting to have a photograph with him. And finally on annual day I did take a picture with him.

I don't know what kind of co-incident is this but when his right leg sprained, mine did too, within a few days. It's kind of funny, limping when your role model is doing the same too :D

#100HappyDays - Day 10 and Day 11

Day 10: Happiness is a sweet gift. Few days ago my sister brought me a pen stand which had a line "Nice to have a brother like you" and my name written on it. Today when I was feeling low, I saw this pen stand and suddenly my mood brightened up. At least I know there are people who care for me and love me. It is one of the best feelings in the world. Happiness is a sweet gift from your sister :)

Day 11: Happiness is a nice DP. Did I mention I love changing DP's on Whatsapp often? So whenever I get a nice one, it makes me happy. Today was one such day where I got a picture that made me happy.

Faith

There has always been a lot of question about the existence of god. But I have always believed it and I'm going to share an experience.

I mentioned in a post about sprain in my leg. The pain was horrible. It was difficult to walk and I was not in a condition to walk without someone supporting me. It was embarrassing to say the least. But more than that, the worry was that my leg was not recovering. I was worried a lot. Every one was saying that it was a fracture. So X-Ray was the only solution. But I was really Scared of fracture and plaster of Paris.

I had exams in few days and I didn't want to be tied down because of fracture. So here begins the story. I prayed to God that if it wasn't a fracture, I would do a special decoration to the shrine. When the reports came out, it just turned out to be a cramp, not fracture. God had listened to my prayers finally! And as per my promise, I decorated the shrine with lots of flowers. Here is how it looked.

So, Believe in god. He'll always save you from trouble.

Organizing Fun!

It was a sleepy Wednesday and all the lectures seemed boring. Suddenly in break time, Sushma Ma'am turned up and enquired whether anyone was interested in being volunteer for fare well party. I wanted to; that was my dream. I quickly raised my hands there were two others rising their hands as well. Since she was noticing me for the first time, she gave me a chance. That was my happiest moment. It was my dream to be a organizer after my sister had been one.

Then we began with our first meeting which was not so good to me as I was nervous to speak to her but the next day all nervousness vanished and feeling bold, I spoke to her about my plans. She was really impressed by my ideas.

Days passed and we started preparations with more enthusiasm. Finally the day of inviting the seniors came and we did it with excitement. But it turned out vain. After we invited them, the fare well party was preponed. This time the lecturers went to invite them without us. So much for the excitement!!! All the responsibilities increased due to preponing and we were missing more and more classes. But we were enjoying our work.

Today was the day we had to finalize all our work and we were keyed up. We couldn't attend a single class and the whole day was spent in preparations. We had to invite the lecturers and that was assigned to me by my friends. I happily agreed as I was free unlike my friends who were busy preparing scripts for anchoring. I was almost done inviting when the unexpected happened. In my excitement I was barely watching my steps and I fell down spraining my right ankle. It was so embarrassing and I was limping all noon which drew unnecessary attention from everyone. All questions pointed towards me made me wish I could disappear. While the time spent in morning was exciting, the one in the noon was embarrassing. Somehow I made it through the day and I was so relieved when I reached home.

Don't worry, I am really okay now. All I can think right now is about tomorrow's party and I am looking forward to have fun.

Until the next post,
Sudhi :)

#100HappyDays - Day 1

So, After a lot of thinking I started this #100 Happy Days Challenge. Probably I might find some reasons to be happy.

It was our college fest today and our first chance to enjoy with our lecturers. And I took full advantage of this chance. I took a photograph with my role model. It was my happiest moment of the day.
